Industry Committee of IHK Lower Bavaria visits GREIPL GmbH

On September 19, 2023, the IHK Industry Committee came together for a meeting at the new GREIPL GmbH plant in Haus im Wald.

Industrial companies in Lower Bavaria are facing a variety of challenges: labor shortages, loss of purchasing power due to inflation, high energy prices and a great deal of bureaucracy. The IHK economic survey also shows that the Lower Bavarian economy is stagnating.

The 20 members of the IHK Expert Committee, led by Chairman Prof. Dr. Andreas Buske, discussed at the event how things can improve despite all these challenges.

Host Jürgen Greipl first gave his guests an overview of the history of GREIPL GmbH. The managing director of the family business also talked about the challenges that the company had to overcome in the transformation process from a sheet metal manufacturer to a modern high-tech company, which primarily included changed processes and workflows.

GREIPL's vision is to make a significant contribution to its customers and to be able to accompany them from the idea generation to series production. That is why it was very important for the company to set up its own engineering team in order to be able to optimally support customers in the fields of medical technology, electromobility, industrial laser technology and microscopy.

The company has thus set the course for growth in recent years and Jürgen Greipl is very optimistic about the future, despite the general economic uncertainties.

At GREIPL GmbH, we are aware that efficient processes play an important role in the current times. That is why the company is working with the start-up IFOX Systems. Dr. Stefan J. Blöchl, the company's managing director, first explains theoretically how processes can be optimized using business intelligence tools. He then shows, together with Florian Weishäupl, head of technical work preparation, how an assembly line can be set up at GREIPL according to the lean principle.

After the production tour, the members of the technical committee were visibly enthusiastic about what GREIPL GmbH is achieving here.

Thomas Göttle from PwC then shared tips on cost optimization and sustainability in his presentation. Klaus Jaschke from the IHK of Lower Bavaria then moderated a panel discussion on the current challenges facing industrial companies. He once again emphasized how important the exchange between companies is, not least for the IHK work with politicians.

Current economic issues were the focus of the event and members continued to discuss them long after the official part.
